Training focus (overview)
Our undergraduate teaching emphasizes whole-person, function-oriented geriatric care, anchored in Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) and team-based practice. Learners gain supervised exposure to older inpatients with geriatric syndromes and/or recent functional decline, and practice documenting problems in both medical and geriatric syndrome/function domains.


Typical learning activities
Ward-based learning in a dedicated geriatric ward (22 beds) Structured academic sessions (e.g., journal reading/discussion; attending-led teaching) Interdisciplinary case conference highlighting functional assessment and family support, with input from nursing, pharmacy, nutrition, social work, and other professionals
Selected programs may include outpatient shadowing, home visits, and discharge-preparation services
