Training focus (overview)
Postgraduate training is designed around competency-based medical education and the core competencies commonly used in residency training (e.g., patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning, communication, professionalism, and systems-based practice). The program strengthens capabilities in geriatric medicine, generalist care, and interprofessional collaboration to support Taiwan’s rapidly aging society.


Typical learning activities
Acute geriatric inpatient care and outpatient exposure within the Department of Geriatrics and Gerontology
Core geriatrics themes: CGA, geriatric syndromes (e.g., falls, delirium, incontinence, cognitive impairment), medication issues, prevention/health promotion, ethics and legal issues, and care transitions/long-term care resources

Case-based teaching, bedside teaching rounds, and participation in regular academic meetings (e.g., journal club and case conferences)
